abundance as a journey

when you think of abundance, what comes to mind? Money? Love? Friendship? Family? Happiness?

me too - which is why I was surprised the other day when I attended a soundbath centred on the theme of abundance, and the guided journaling part of the day took me an entirely different direction than I expected!

one of the other soundbath attendees shared that they’d seen a bubble float by their 18th floor balcony that morning, and I just thought that image was so special? magical? poignant? abundant!!! I guess my mind went to the concept of seemingly disparate, strange little happy happenings that seem out of place - but are happening nonetheless, connected to our day-to-days, giving us unexpected windows into the abundance of surprises and delights that are out there for us to experience!

so, I guess I made some jumps in my thinking, landing on scarcity as a feeling of disconnection, of everything being an island. There is ‘less’ in the world for us if we don’t acknowledge how it all connects to the bigger picture. Instead, looking at even the most ‘random’ of things as interconnected, as part of an unfolding cycle/spiral of experiences that come together to make an abundant whole - now THAT feels big, that feels goooooooood.

I like the idea of abundance as a journey, as something that reveals itself if I stay open to it, as something that can and will come in and out of my life, rather than something that I can “have” and keep.

abundance belongs to us only as we are part of the ‘whole’ - it is not something we can collect, hoard, safeguard as individuals on our islands, for us to choose how and if we delegate it to others around us.

of course… that’s not to say we haven’t commodified abundance as a society and do in fact hoard and distribute it… but how toxic is that? how limiting? I want an abundance that is expansive and shared. I want abundance that reminds us we are all connected in this weird, hard, but beautiful life.

Stranger sneak peek:

it’s been a slow Stranger season - just “doodling” lately, but I’ve got some big ideas in the pipeline that I can’t wait to get to once I have the brain-space for it!

this workshop got rescheduled after I had a sick day and couldn’t do it! I’m sorry to everyone who signed up and I hope that you’ll be able to join us again for this one (or the next… eventually!) Summer weekends are of course.. BUSY! So we’re a little last minute getting this going, but we’re doing it this SUNDAY AUGUST 21!

you can sign up HERE! If you happen to be free and craving some creative community/connection/play, I’d so love to see you there!

ps. eventbrite refunds everyone automatically when an event is cancelled, so if you had signed up for the last one, you were refunded and do need to sign up and pay again! I’m so sorry for the inconvenience!

~

thank you for reading & thinking with me!

hugs, Katia
