be a happening!
plus, an early invitation to join Anthropology of Your Inner World at a discount!
“be a happening!”
“just be blooming”!
i love the permission these found phrases offer in this little collage i made - they’re like a little invitation from the universe! an invitation to the freedom of just HAPPENING and BLOOMING! such welcoming, transitory, moving and evolving states…
i’ve not historically been one for limbo or transition phases, and yet I so frequently extoll the virtues of being in the process, of spending time in the grey-zones, of embracing the liminal. my work with people with memory loss is the only place this has ever felt easy for me - and i wonder if this is why I most frequently find myself the most present when in that work. in the moment. people living with memory loss are such phenomenal teachers of this.
i’ve been reflecting a lot on how this work has brought me exactly to this moment, right here. today! facilitating and teaching in the context of dementia for almost 10 years has been so formative. the way i’ve learned and been taught to be in that context is entirely reflected in the way i do most everything (except the limbo parts, apparently), including in how i designed my e-course.
at the risk of seeming performative or piggy backing on this really meaningful other work to help promote my e-course, i share it anyway because it does feel so tied together. i learned how much i love to teach and witness others experience the joy of creating, because of my work with people living with dementia. i learned how much play and experimentation can occur in a safe art-making space, because of my work with people living with dementia. i learned about the importance of community in supporting this type of learning and this type of space, because of my work with people living with dementia.
and so, i invite you, my friends/newsletter subscribers, to take the course at an early-bird 20% off discount! learn more about the course and purchase it here!!!!
Anthropology of Your Inner World is a deep dive into our inner worlds, using collage, curiosity, and play to gain clarity on what your inner world is trying to tell you, and how to translate it through any creative medium!
this course is designed for any and all creatives looking to gain a better understanding of their inner worlds and how to translate it into their work. that’s right! you don’t need to be a visual artist to benefit from this course - in fact, half of my pilot group were poets! some had never collaged before!
(side note: always invite poets to write you testimonials about your work - i cried, a lot, at their kind and beautiful words about the course!)
right now, there are no dates set for a group, facilitated, 5 week session. we may need a bit of time to spread the word and give people a taste first. so this offering is for the self-directed version only - however, this does include access to our community Slack platform where you can engage with me, other learners, and share your work! i love love love seeing what you do and engaging with people in the Slack, so please make the most of it if you choose to take the course!
plus, as soon as a group experience is planned, people in the Slack get first dibs on spots for it! there would be an additional fee for my time as facilitator, but not the full fee of the e-course again of course!
so come find out why i’m talking about artichokes, and much much more, in this series of playful, thoughtful, and supportive video modules that guide you in discovering and gaining clarity on your inner world, and digging deep into what your aesthetic and creative voice are trying to say! i had a LOT of fun making this course for you all, and i hope you will have a LOT of fun taking it!
the course will be launched publicly at full price on MONDAY - so take advantage of the 20% discount this weekend :)
